
Who is the story about? Grandpa and Grandson Porter and LEGOS
Description While Grandpa and Grandson are building LEGOS together, Grandpa tells about his old LEGO set that was slightly different than Porter's new set, colors were not as bright, but his old TV was black and white so his LEGOS seemed bright back then. Grandpa builds his old Grandpa's Plumbing Truck while Porter builds his family car, a box-shaped Scion.
Who else is in the story? Porter's parents
Where are they? They are on the livingroom floor at Porter's house.
What are they doing? Grandpa is building his old house as Porter builds modern houses.
Why are they doing that? Grandpa tells of his life back in the old days while he has an eager listener during their LEGO building. Having LEGOs act as visuals captures the child's attention as they compare their lives.
What happens to everyone? Grandpa promises to share his photo album with his Grandson so he can see photos of the old trucks and old house where he grew up. An important bond has developed with the use as LEGOs as the medium.
What's your favorite part of the story? Porter learns that LEGO was invented by a Dane and LEGO means "play well" in Danish.
