Who is the story about? Meridia The Mermaid
Description Meridia's lives in a huge coral reef and when her home begins to die against her father's wishes she goes on a treacherous journey where she gets to the root of the problem leading her to meet the beautiful queen of the oysters. The queen helps her become human allowing her to save her home.
Who else is in the story? Florian the Mermaid King, Loralee the Oyster Queen, Meridia's best friend and beautiful white fish named Kora Fishermen Dan and Eddie.
Where are they? The sea is sparkling and the coral reef is busy. Fish are swiming in every direction. Meridia is swimming along the reef looking for a pretty sea flower to put in her Hair when she sees her best friend Kora
What are they doing? Kora is a usually so dancy in the morning light but when Meridia is out collecting flowers she sees her friend and reaslizes something is very wrong. Kora is sick and so is her beautiful coral home. Merida goes to her father the sea king to figure out how to help her friend and her beloved home. Her father does not come up with a good enough solution for Meridia so she goes out into the ocean to find the problem. She finds pollution to be the culprit and seeks out Loralee the Oyster Queen who helps Meridia Become human. When she becomes human she meets two very helpful fishermen who take her to the source of the pollution. She works with the humans and stops the pollution.
Why are they doing that? Florian the sea king tells Kora and Meridia not to worry he will figure something out he tells Kora she should just move that their home is sick and he doesnt know what to do about it. He tells Maridia that they will eventually have to find a new home. Maridia cannot accept this because she sees this as a bigger problem than what her father sees. The Oyster Queen wants to help Kora and Meridia because she knows it will not only save the coral reef but it will help to preserve the ocean
What happens to everyone? Merida goes on an amazing adventure and saves her friend her home and the ocean
What's your favorite part of the story? The story teaches children about the effects of pollution through a fun adventurous story
