Who is the story about? Billy and Sally
Description Billy and Sally enjoy imaginative play and decide to confront their fears.
Who else is in the story? Mommy and the Laundry Monster
Where are they? At home with their Mommy who stays home to do the dishes while their Daddy goes to work. They live at the end of the street by the big woods.
What are they doing? Billy and Sally are playing Hide-and-go-seek. Billy is looking for a hiding place in the laundry room when he sees the laundry monster in the corner wearing Daddy's shirt. He tells Sally and even though they are scared they decide to scare the monster out of their house and back into the big woods.
Why are they doing that? Billy and Sally want to protect their home and get Daddy's shirt back from the laundry monster. They want to confront their fears.
What happens to everyone? Billy and Sally enter the laundry room with their instruments and begin to make loud noise with their instruments while yelling as loud as they can. Mommy hears the commotion and turns on the light as she comes in the room. Billy and Sally discover that the laundry monster was actually a pile of folded laundry with Daddy's shirt on top. They have a laugh and go to the kitchen for a snack.
What's your favorite part of the story? My favorite part of the story is when the kids decide to confront their fears rather than hide or run away. Their courage is inspiring.
What would you build out of LEGO® DUPLO® blocks to bring your story to life? My son would build the laundry monster out of Duplo blocks and think of ways he could scare the monster away.
