Who is the story about? Wilbur, the thinking dog. and Little Simon
Description Wilbur, the spotted dog, teaches Simon how to use Duplos for fun and entertainment while at the same time amusing himself.
Who else is in the story? Wilbur and little Simon's Grandma.
Where are they? It's a snowbound, black ice kind of day in North Dakota.
What are they doing? Simon is crabby and doesn't know what to do. Wilbur, with his canine intelligence shows Simon how to play with his new, colorful, Duplos the cainine-inspired way.
Why are they doing that? It's a stormy, snowbound type of day in the Frigstad house. Little Simon, used to getting out and about, is super crabby from boredom. Wilbur, with his superior intelligence saves the day. Wilbur thinks, "I've got to help grandma entertain little Simon. What can I do? I know, I'll teach Simon how to play fetch!"
What happens to everyone? Wilbur thinks, "First I'll teach Simon how to take the Duplo blocks out of the crate...he'll like that!" "Then I'll show him, by my superior acting ability, how to toss them ever so gently in the air." "I'll be the one to fetch them and then Simon, by now giggling, can toss the Duplos all over again." "Yup, it's a win-win situation. Baby Simon is happy and I, Wilbur, get to play fetch." "Bark, bark," OOPS, sometimes I get carried away. "Forget I did that!"
What's your favorite part of the story? My favorite part is the way Wilbur almost seems to talk with his ability to convey his thoughts to baby Simon.
What would you build out of LEGO® DUPLO® blocks to bring your story to life? Grandma would come along, after hearing the giggles, and help Simon, with Wilbur's assistance build a colorful tower.
