Earlier this month, Kevin Feige, Scarlett Johansson's producer from "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," announced that ScarJo is expecting. Feige didn't reveal if Johansson OK'd the pregnancy announcement; she's keeping...well, mum!
Estimates have suggested she's about five months along, and while it may be obvious now, she doesn't want to talk about it. In a new interview of Johansson for The New Yorker, writer Anothony Lane wrote, "I was under stringent instructions not to mention the good news. A friend of mine, ungallantly but correctly, called it the elephant in the womb."
"Well, my first reaction was that I was very happy for her and very excited for her, and my second reaction was, we've gotta move some pieces on the chess board around schedule-wise," Feige said. He alluded to the fact that they had to hide her pregnancy during shooting, which was certainly difficult with the skintight costume that her character, Black Widow, wears!
The 29-year-old actress made her first post-announcement appearance on the red carpet for her new movie "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." Wearing a beautiful cream and black lace dress, her growing tummy was barely visible.
While she's usually a very private person, fans do know a few things. Scarlett and her French journalist fiancé, Romain Dauriac, have been together since November 2012. In September 2013, the couple confirmed their engagement. A "source" told US Weekly, "The baby was a welcome surprise!" But there's been no word on when the wedding will take place.
