Bummed about the prospect of a c-section scar? Prior to delivery, ask your doctor to stitch below the skin's top layer for a less prominent scar, says Cameron Rokhsar, M.D., a dermatologist in New York City. After delivery, use an antibacterial ointment with a bandage to keep your incision moist. And be sure to return for follow-up visits on time. When you're done having kids, steroid injections or laser treatments can minimize a scar that hasn't faded.
