Steve & Barry's University Sportswear has recalled 334,000 children's upper-outerwear garments. The drawstrings on the garments' hoods pose a strangulationhazard and do not comply with 1996 CPSC drawstring guidelines.
The recalled garments consist of jackets, coats, and sweaters in a variety of colors in youth sizes up to size 12. Many have the names of colleges and universities written on them. A tag sewn on the garment reads, "Steve & Barry's Quality Athletic Goods." The recalled style numbers are 15178, 16105, 16168, 16230, 16231, 16257, 16509, 17197, 17285 and 18346, and can be found on a collar or side label.
Consumers should remove the drawstring from the garment to eliminate strangulation hazard, or return the garment to the store where purchased for a refund. For more information about Steve & Barry's University Sportswear, call (877) 866-7776 anytime or visit
