Cobmex has recalled about 16,000 youth-size jackets with drawstrings. The drawstrings can get caught on tree branches, fences, or playground equipment, and thereby entangle and strangle children.
The jackets are made of nylon and have zippers down the front, with a Cobmex neck label. The drawstrings are located on the jacket's hood and waist, or only on the waist. The jackets come in navy, black, green, red, and wine, and were sold at children's clothing and uniform stores nationwide for about $30, from January 2006 through February 2007.
The drawstrings should be removed immediately from the jackets. Consumers may return the jacket to the store where it was purchased for a refund. For more information, call Cobmex at (877) 926-2639 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. PT Monday through Friday or visit
