About 7.3 million Polly Pocket play sets are among those being recalled due to small, powerful magnets that can easily be dislodged and harmful if swallowed. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), if more than one magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforation, which can be fatal.

Doggie Day Care™ Magnetic Toys, Barbie and Tanner™ Magnetic Toys, and Batman™ and One Piece™ Magnetic Action Figure Sets manufactured before January 31, 2007 are also being taken off the shelves due to potentially hazardous magnets.

In addition, the "Sarge" Die Cast Toy Cars have been recalled due to high levels of lead paint in the toys. These toys were not manufactured or painted by the same vendors involved in the recent [TOUT_LINK "http://www.parenting.com/parenting/article/0,19840,1649424,00.html?cid=tout-tagcloud-fisherpricerecall" "Fisher-Price lead paint recall"].

This massive recall adds to the growing list of toy safety alerts reported by the CPSC in the past three months.
