More Thomas & Friends Toys Recalled

Excessive levels of lead found in more pieces of the popular toy line

An additional 200,000 Thomas and Friends Wooden Railway Toys from RC2 Corp of Oakbrook, Illinois have been recalled due to lead paint. In June the company announced the recall of 1.5 million other Thomas and Friends railway toys The recalled toys involve the Thomas and Friends Wooden Railway product line: the all-black cargo car, toad vehicle, olive green sodor cargo box, and all-green maple tree top and signal base accessories. The logo "Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway" can be found in the upper left-hand corner on the front of the packaging. The bottoms of some of the recalled packaging may have tracking codes. Toys with "WJ" and "AZ" codes are not included in the recall.

The all-black cargo car is part of the Brendam Fishing Dock Set. Cargo cars sold in other sets are not included in the recall. The cargo car has either no tracking code or one of the following codes on its undersides:

The toad vehicle with brake lever has tracking code 16560W000 on its underside.

The olive green sodor cargo box is labeled "SODOR" on the side and was included only in the Deluxe Cranky the Crane Set.

The all-green maple tree top and green signal base accessories were included only in Conductor's Figure 8 Sets.

These toys were made in China and sold at various retailers nationwide from March 2003 to September 2007 for between $10 and $40. The toys should immediately be taken away from children.
