Paint on the journals and bookmarks contain excessive levels of lead

About 150,000 bookmarks and journals have been recalled by Antioch Publishing of Yellowsprings, Ohio due to lead paint found on the products.

Paint on the spiral metal bindings of the journals and clip and clear coating on the bookmarks contain excessive levels of lead. The following designs are included in the recall:

Clip Bookmarks:
Winnie the Pooh
Lady Bug & Flower
Hope & Courage
Star
Sun & Rainbow
Coffee
Follow Him & Cross
Monkey & Bananas

Marquis Bookmarks:
Dragon
Hugging Cat

Bookmarks with Bracelets:
Mother's Touch
Breast Cancer

Journals:
Cherry Blossoms
Sweetheart
Sassy

The recalled bookmarks and journals were sold at book, card, and gift stores nationwide from March 2005 to October 2007 for $4 - $14.
