July 19, 2007 About 1 million Easy-Bake Ovens are being recalled after reports of children getting burns and one report of a serious burn requiring a partial finger amputation. Children can get their hands or fingers caught in the oven's front opening, posing entrapment and burn hazards.

The Easy-Bake Oven is purple and pink and resembles a kitchen range with four burners on top and a front-loading oven. "Easy Bake" is printed on the front and model number 65805 and "Hasbro" are stamped on the back of the recalled ovens. The recall includes all units with the retrofit kit. The Easy-Bake Ovens were sold at Toys "R" Us, Wal-Mart, Target, KB Toys, and other retailers nationwide from May 2006 to July 2007 for about $25. Ovens sold before May 2006 are not included in this recall.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled ovens away from children and call Easy-Bake for instructions on how to return the oven for a voucher towards another "Hasbro" product. Call Easy-Bake at (800) 601-8418 or visit www.easybake.com.

A little -- heck, we're indulging, too!
Nope. It's not healthy or worth the sugar meltdown.
