Spencer Gifts has recalled about 8,400 Skull-and-Crossbones necklaces. The skull and metal clasp of the necklace contain high levels of lead. Lead can be toxic if ingested and can cause adverse health effects.

This recall involves a necklace with a skull-and-crossbones symbol and a metal clasp. The skull has eleven pieces of rhinestones on its forehead and one rhinestone on both ends of the crossbones. The necklaces were made in China and sold at Spirit Halloween and Spencer Gift stores nationwide from November 2006 to December 2008 for between $8 and $10.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled necklaces away from children and contact Spencer Gifts for a refund or exchange. For additional information, contact Spencer Gifts toll-free at (800) 321-2497 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit the firm's Web site at www.spencersonline.com or www.spirithalloween.com.
