Helicopter Toys Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

The battery can catch fire and ignite the helicopter and other nearby items

About 30,000 "Fun2Fly Microcopter" Remote-Controlled Helicopter Toys by Soft Air USA Inc., of Grapevine, Texas have been recalled. The helicopter's rechargeable battery can catch fire while charging, posing a burn or fire hazard. The company has received six reports of the helicopters catching fire and one minor injury.

The recall involves the "Fun2Fly Microcopter" with item number 91001 printed aboce the UPC label. The recalled toy is made of foam and plastic, measuring about 6 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches. The toy helicopter comes with a transmitter that controls and recharges the helicopter, measuring about 4 1/2 inches by 5 inches. "Fun2Fly" and "Microcopter" are printed on the packaging.

The recalled "Fun2Fly Microcopter" toys were made in China and sold in sporting goods stores and other stores nationwide from May to December 2007 for $30.
