Baby's First Checkup
Baby's First Year Webisodes
-Your baby's first check-up will take place within a few days of your arrival home from the hospital. The doctor will check your baby's vital signs, check for weight gain and learn how well he's feeding. -Height and weight is probably the easiest way to follow adequate growth and development and adequate nutrition. -After recording all of your baby's measurements, your pediatrician will take a more hands-on approach at every check-up, doing a physical exam of your baby's eyes, ears, nose, throat, genitals, and joints. Your pediatrician will discuss your baby's eating and sleeping habits and other areas of behavior and development. Finally, your baby will be receiving shots, probably not at this check-up, but in the future. You may receive a schedule of these and ages they will be administered.
