Do You Have Annoying Facebook Friends? Drop Them Today – National Defriend Day

We all have those friends on Facebook who spend every waking minute writing new status updates, provide too much information (we don’t need to know about your visit to the dermatologist) or who just post too many details about their perfect kids, perfect spouses and perfect lives. Blech.

We all have those friends on Facebook who spend every waking minute writing new status updates, provide too much information (we don’t need to know about your visit to the dermatologist) or who just post too many details about their perfect kids, perfect spouses and perfect lives. Blech.

A recent survey conducted by Eversave even confirmed that a wide majority of women get annoyed by their Facebook friends, 85 percent of them in fact. Here are the most irksome behaviors that were named:

  • Complaining all the time (63 percent)
  • Sharing unsolicited political views (42 percent)
  • Bragging about seemingly perfect lives (32 percent)

Well, if there’s any day to clean house, it’s today – National Defriend Day.

The first question you’ll probably ask is – will people know if I defriend them? The answer is no. Well, technically no. Users don’t get any kind of alert or notification that they’ve been defriended, so they’ll only know if they watch their follower count vigilantly, keep a record of all their friends and do investigative work when the friend tally changes. But who has the time to do that?

Onto the defriend process. It’s very simple.

–          Log into your Facebook account

–          Click on Account on the top right corner and click on ‘Edit Friends’

–          Either search for the person you want to remove or simply scroll through your list

–          Click on the ‘x’ on the right hand side and confirm

Done! No more annoying updates in your feed.

And did you really need to be friends with the girl you had Spanish with sophomore year but haven’t spoken to since then?
