Screen Play App of the Week: Red Stamp

Red Stamp, purveyors of stylish printed stationery, recently launched an iPhone app that lets users keep up with Miss Manners and send out everything from thank you cards, congratulatory messages, birthday cards, even wish you were here cards, on-the-go.

This week’s app pick brings the art of correspondence back into style, and makes it easier, too:

Red Stamp, purveyors of stylish printed stationery, recently launched an iPhone app that lets users keep up with Miss Manners and send out everything from thank you cards, congratulatory messages, birthday cards, even wish you were here cards, on-the-go.

Choose from a preset series of designs and pre-written text options to include on the card. What’s makes it customizable is that you can include a photo in the card, so the thank you note to your mother-in-law shows her grandson playing with the awesome scooter she got him for his birthday. The card can be sent virtually – via email, Facebook or Twitter – or you can pay $1.29 to have the card you designed printed on high-quality stock and sent via snail mail.

Since the app is fairly new, the design options aren’t as plentiful as I’d like to see, but they are indeed beautiful. As the app gets further updates it would be great to see more design choices, as well as options for sending out things like birth announcements directly from your smartphone.

But anything that makes the thank you card process faster and easier is worth checking out.
