Total Tally Tuesday: Checking Account Balances!

Every Tuesday, we’ll report exactly how much our families have in their checking accounts — and what they’re planning to do with it.

Leah: $369.74

I feel as though I need to confess: My husband had a four day weekend and we went out and spent money. I felt guilty and good at the same time. Must get back to completing the financial worksheets for Karen!

Good news: November’s expenses are already accounted for in that figure, so this will go toward December’s expenses. That’s a relief. Bad news: Got a flat tire this morning. My auto insurance has road-side assistance so the tow truck that came to swap the flat for the spare was covered, but how much the rest was going to cost me and how I might maintain my already tight budget despite this unexpected event had me distracted. I wrote a list of things I’m grateful for to alleviate the stress while I waited. Good news: 2 hours later the tire is fixed at $0.00 cost to me thanks to Les Schwab Tire Center. My budget remains intact, and I get to add one more thing to be grateful for to that list I started earlier.

Natasha: $176.70

That's what's in my credit union account. My checking account still has the negative balance. After the break-up with Zac, I might have to move in with my mom. I wanted to stay in my apartment, but the rent is in arrears $3200. I am giving myself until Friday to sort everything out.
