Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

Has anyone had a kidney problem while they were pregnant that caused a lot of protein in the urine and high blood pressure w/o toxemia?

I am 26 weeks and 3 days pregnant, everything looks fine with the baby but i have 8.7 grams of protein in my urine. My blood pressure is out the roof but the OB doctors say that I do not have pre eclampsia (toxemia) yet. Has anyone had these problems or have any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. I have chronic kidney disease, that just means that i always have kidney infections. Every time that i go to the doctors there are large amounts of protein in my urine too. My doc said that this is nothing to worry about and to try to avoid things that will make my blood pressure higher, like salty foods and stress. Even with all of this going on he doesnt think that it should harm the baby in any way. I'm 25 weeks. Good luck and i hope everything turns out ok for you.
