Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

Pancreatitis, Gall Stones, and Preterm Labor...oh my!

1 answers
I am 33 weeks pregnant with my second child, was recently hospitalized for pancreatitis (pancreas digests itself) and gall stones. Was in there for 3 days and released, and have since been to l&d twice with preterm labor induced by the infection. Only treatment is to not eat (yes seriously not eat) until baby is born andhave gall bladder removed. Couldn't they deliver the baby early? (like 35 weeks?) I've lost 7 lbs in 6 days and I'm either hungry, nauseated or in pain...help!

The earliest they could take the baby is 37 weeks without complications.  It sounds like you are in a whole lot of pain.  Maybe try a clear liquid diet then at least you are getting something in your system.  The clear liquid diet is a recommended diet for both gall bladder problems and pancreatitis.  Plus I am sure that your doctor has their reasons for not inducing you, maybe the baby just isn't ready yet.
