Your body doesn't produce enough of the pregnancy hormone, hCG, for the tests to read until it is time for your next period. That is when the embryo will implant in your uterus. Before that, the embryo is in the fallopian tube where it was fertilized. You may get an accurate result a day or two before your period is due but it is iffy at best.Good luck getting answers :)
After ovulation, the baby takes 7-10 days to implant. With my second pregnancy, I was able to take a regular over-the counter test one week past ovulation and get a positive result! Pretty cool! But usually at that time the only thing that's really accurage are blood tests measuring your HCG levels.
