Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

Is it weird that the only true cravings I have are pop & mexican food?

Since about a week after I found out I was pregnant, the only cravings I have been having are anything carbonated (italian sodas, sprite, carbonated flavored waters, etc). The only problem is as soon as I start drinking anything sweet, I have to quickly stop because the baby appearantly doesnt like sugary things. Also, mexican food (enchiladas, tacos, taco soup, etc). Then again the grease from the meat makes my stomach upset too. I guess my question is are those weird? Does anyone else on here have the same kind of cravings? And does anyone have any kind of clue on what I can do to satisfy my cravings without upsetting my stomach?

Try ginger ale for your bubbly drink.  The ginger in it will naturally aid in settling upset tummies.  I live off of it while pregnant.  Try a lower fat meat, we usually get extra lean ground beef from the grocery store and you may have to do that too (much less grease and actually more meat for your money because less is washed down the drain in fat).  Rinse your meat before putting into your food, that should help get the extra grease out too.  I don't have the same cravings and yours may change as your pregnancy progresses.  Try the ginger ale though it should help with both your bubbly drink and settling your stomach.
when i was pregnant i craved eggs but they made me sick so i ate chicken and it worked so just try to find the same things in something eles like pop has alot of sodium so try eating something salty and mexican food if spicy so try eating something spicy to replace the craving hope this helps good luck! :)

sorry i wrote that twice
I would recommend using another meat for your mexican dishes.. I know alot of people arent big on eating turkey but I use turkey in alot of dishes instead of beef becuase it is so much better for us, they even make ground turkey in 1lb frozen roll here and you can buy them in taco flavor.. its the turkey and they already have the seasoning mixed in for you.. just a thought but it wouldnt be greasy on your stomach good luck =)
