Docters say don't lift anything heavy. My daughter is almost 8 months and 19 pounds and my doc said to limit the lifting on her.
Heavy lifting can cause multiple problems. See if your doctor can put you on light duty or try to do something else at work.
When I was pregnant my daughter was about 30 lbs and she was not even 2 yet. So I had to still pick her up and carry her. I asked my midwife if this was okay and she said there is no real danger in it. That it is not going to cause me to lose the pregnancy. She did say it is my back that will hurt the most and to make sure I use my legs to pick her up and not my back.If you are worried ask your doctor. Not everyone can switch jobs and sometimes you really need the money. So ask the doctor and come up with something you are comfortable with.
Heavy lifting can cause premature labor, in addition to general aches and pains. You should definitely see about finding another position or a different job for your sake and for your baby's.
