Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

vasectomy reversal... anyone had success?

3 answers
Hi! I'm currently engaged and my fiance had a vasectomy about 8 years ago. He has 3 children from his previous marriage; this is my first marriage and I've never tried to have kids in the past. We've recently decided that we'd like to have a baby of our own. I've been researching information on vasectomy reversals. Neither of us have fertily issues other than his vasectomy. I don't believe that our insurance covers either procedure and am fearful that we will spend a lot of money and then have our dreams crushed by failure. Since I know that it can take up to a year after the procedure (vasectomy reversal) for a pregnancy, I'd like to save the money and do the procedure soon since we would like to try to have the baby, if possible, within 3 years. If you have any information or words of windom and encouragement that you have gained from your experiences, please share them! Please share your success stories! Thanks!

I am not sure how the reversal works. But my husband had one about 11 yrs ago and also has children from a previous marriage. We talked about getting it reversed for years, but never had the money so we left it alone for awhile. But as we call a mircle nearly 2 yrs ago i got pregnnt with my daughter who  is 100% Healthy, the beautifulest child i ever seen, She is our gift from god! It is really amazing that we were able to have her ecspecially with his V. I hope this was some words of encouragement and Good Luck Sweetie!
Instead of spending money on a procedure that won't be covered by insurance, why don't you think about adopting children who already need loving families? There are so many babies and children in the foster system who are just waiting for permanent homes.
@AlessandrasMommy - What a miracle! God works in amazing ways! Congratulations to you both! Thank you for sharing with me :) We pray everyday for a little miracle of our own.
