Children's Metal Jewelry Recalled

Essentials for Kids Jewelry Sets by Future Industries have been recalled. The metal jewelry sets contain high levels of lead which can be toxic if ingested.

About 20,000 sets have been recalled. The sets include a necklace, a bracelet, and a pair of earrings with green, pink or blue plastic beads. The necklaces have painted metallic pendants shaped as shoes, girls, blackboards, and school buses. The other recalled sets include a necklace and seven pendants, for each day of the week. The pendants are shaped as sandals, purses, and butterflies. "Essentials for kids" is printed on the packaging. The recalled jewelry sets were sold at gift stores, dollar stores, and small discount stores nationwide from August 2005 to April 2007 for about $1.

Consumers should immediately take the jewelry away from children and return to the store where purchased for a full refund. Consumers can also contact Future Industries at (800) 929-0006 between 9 A.M. and 5 P.M. ET, Monday to Friday, for more information.
