New Trend in Celebrity Baby Names: It's All About the Letter R

What do these baby names have in common: River, Harper, Oliver and Future Zahir? For one thing, they all belong to recent celebrity babies; more to the point, they all end in the letter R. It seems star moms Kelly Clarkson, Jenna Fischer, Ginnifer Goodwin and Ciara have revealed a trend in baby naming, and there's no reason you can't get in on it, too.

The celebrity "R" craze took off when singer Ciara welcomed her son Future Zahir on May 19, which she announced on her Facebook page. Then actress Jenna Fischer gave birth to daughter Harper Marie on May 25. The star of "The Office" wasn't the first celebrity to fall in love with the name Harper, of course. David and Victoria Beckham, Neil Patrick Harris and Tiffani Thiessen also have daughters with that name.

The trend gained momentum when actress Ginnifer Goodwin gave birth to her son Oliver on May 29. Then, American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson announced on Twitter: "Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!! :)."

You needn't look far to find other celebrity baby names ending in "R." Kate Winslet welcomed son Bear last year. Ultra-trendsetter Rachel Zoe named her son Skyler, and actress Thandie Newton gave birth to Booker in April. Singer Alanis Morissette's son is named Ever, and actor Emile Hirsch welcomed son Valor last year.

If you want to jump on the "R" bandwagon, maybe one of these baby names will be just right:

Boys: Alexander, Christopher, Conner, Decker, Hunter, Spencer, Tyler, Tucker, Trevor, Walker or Xavier

Girls: Amber, Chandler, Clair, Eleanor, Jennifer, Heather, Jagger, Piper, Pepper, Saylor, Summer or Taylor
