Every Tuesday, we’ll report exactly how much our families have in their checking accounts -- and what they’re planning to do with it.
Hallelujah, I've been visited by an Angel! We've been waiting on a relocation assistance deposit from the military, and it finally arrived! I haven't looked at my account in about a week because I figured what was the purpose? Money wasn't just going to suddenly appear (at least not until the 1st or second of the month) and POOF! There it is! My husband's paycheck is there too! (Unfortunately, my balance seems off -- $862.68 in my favor. I hate when that happens. I guess I'll just pay my bills accordingly.) Yeah!!
I just balanced my account today and that's more than I thought was there, so that's good. At the same time, I'm terrified. I'll receive my final paycheck this week on Thursday. And I got a call today and learned that an additional $300 income each month is disappearing at the end of November. Right now, I'm fairly confident I'll make it through November if I stick to only my most basic expenses, but I don't have a clue how I'll get through December and the holidays.
I'm now in a place where my basic, mandatory expenses are $650 per month, while my income is down to about $400 per month. So what will I do with the $60 that's there now? Leave it there as long as I can, but most likely, I'll need to use it for gas before the end of the week just to get my kids back and forth to school.
Zak has $482.46.
