Every Tuesday, we’ll report exactly how much our families have in their checking accounts -- and what they’re planning to do with it.
I believe I’m gonna make it! There’s enough in the account for gas this week, and I get my first paycheck on Monday the 25th -- less than a week away! I’ll probably wind up with a late fee for one week of daycare, but I’d rather do that than overdraft my account. I’m looking forward to regular paychecks and being able to shift my perspective from wondering how I’m going to take care of the basics into learning how to manage my money so that it works harder for me than I do for it.

With this, I’ll do the usual -- pay the monthly bills. I think we may be able to pay for the truck repairs before the bill arrives, however, that would take away from putting extra money down on some of the existing credit card bills. I am trying to come up with some basic ways to shave money off our monthly bills. I asked my husband what he thought about getting rid of the cable and he did not like the idea. But we will discuss other possibilities during our upcoming "budget committee meeting," which is part of the course I’m taking, Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University.
In my blog post, I said that life’s unexpecteds are coming at me too fast. Woke up this morn to find that my car was towed. So on top of the $200 fee to retrieve my vehicle, I’ll have to take at least $40 in cabs! There goes a huge chunk of my paycheck, in a matter of hours.
