Every Tuesday, we’ll report exactly how much our families have in their checking accounts -- and what they’re planning to do with it.
This will go just to pay the bills, as usual. We have a huge Christmas food-shopping coming up, as I am the cook of the family and we have out of town guests visiting with us for 10 days. To save money, I will do most of the cooking rather than eating out, unless we are treated. =)
At least that’s what my checkbook says. A family member also gave me $200 cash specifically to use for Christmas gifts for the kids. My pride wishes I didn’t need it, but the truth is that I’m really grateful. It’s like an early gift for me that allows me to do what I really want -- which is to see smiles on the kid’s faces. Now, I just need to make sure I have gas money to get through the rest of the month. In January, school will start and along with it will come financial aide. I had a job interview yesterday too, so maybe just maybe, that will come through as well. What a great Christmas gift that would make!
That’s all I have left until next week Wednesday. I plan to buy gas and a few groceries. My 3-year-old was dying for a Christmas tree, which I bought, so the remainder of my money will go towards ornaments to dress my naked tree!
