Could Your School Use a $20,000 Transformation?

It’s not too late to enter to win a $20,000 grant for your school.  At the Mom Congress conference on April 12th, Parenting magazine announced the launch of the Mom Congress School Transformation Grant Contest, which will award funds to provide one lucky school with the educational resources they need to succeed.

Do you know a school that could benefit from this grant?  I know mine could.  Go to and submit a photo or video of your school along with a 200-word essay on how the school would use the prize money.  Visitors to the Mom Congress site will view the entries and vote for the school they feel is most deserving.  The winner will be the school with the most votes by September 30, 2011.  So hurry up and get nominating if you’d like your school to have a chance at the prize money.

“The Mom Congress School Transformation Grant Contest will put the power in the hands of parents to give their school the resources it needs to achieve success,” said Greg Schumann, vice president, group publisher at The Parenting Group.

The first step in changing the world is noticing that there’s a problem.  Then you need to go out and do the work.  Here’s a chance for parents around the country to stand up for the students in their schools and take advantage of a fabulous opportunity for support and enrichment.  Good luck to all of the applicants!
