Countdown to School Success

Parenting

We’ve spent the last week talking and blogging about helping our children get the best possible education this year.  Now Mom Congress, National PTA and the U.S. Department of Education offer you the information you need to put your plan into action.

The three organizations collaborated to create a “School Success” booklet that will be available in the October issue of Parenting School Years.  The guide was also given out on Secretary of Education Arne Duncan’s bus tour earlier this month and will be distributed to PTA chapters nationwide.

If you’d like to get your hands on a copy now, check out our school success hub, where you will find a PDF of the guide and a wide array of online resources to accompany it.

While you’re online, please take 20 seconds to read and e-sign our reading pledge, promising to take the time to read to your child every day this school year.  Kids are never too young to start reading with a parent and never too old to keep going.  Make a commitment to your child’s success today!

Kathryn Thompson is a mom to two school-aged kids, a toddler and a deceased betta fish. She can also be found at The Parenting Post, DaringYoungMom.com and occasionally the gym.
