Working in D.C. – Collaboration

This week I caught up with Arayna Randall, the 2011 Mom Congress delegate from Washington, D.C. to ask her a couple of questions about what she’s excited about in education.

Me:  What is your most passionate education issue?

Arayna:  My Passion is Parents, teachers and staff working as a team for the common good of education.

Me:  What is one thing that’s going great in Washington, D.C.?

Arayna:  Collaboration with the Avon High School Parent Teacher Organization which brainstorms useful ideas.

Arayna works full time for the National Academies of Sciences, and is mother of two bright DCPS students.  She is currently serving a 2 year term as Secretary for Cleveland Elementary School Home School Association.  She has attended several of the Chancellor’s Community Forums to discuss the Comprehensive School Plans, and DCPS Food Services to provide “stakeholder” concerns to the DCPS Administration.
