Hope you all had a great Christmas! Mine was really nice—lots of family, lots of food and lots of excitement for Alex (I don’t think he’s stopped smiling since Thursday). But now it’s back to reality, which means there’s a new year coming in a few days… and a new baby coming a few days after that.
Nick and I will be having a super low-key New Year’s Eve seeing as we have no plans as of yet and no babysitter lined up (and, frankly, no desire to be out with all the crazies….). I’d be surprised if I make it to midnight to be honest and that’s fine with me. Still, we had a pretty great 2009 and I am so excited for 2010. Mostly because the year is going to kick off with the birth of a new baby! Of course it’s also the time for sticking to resolutions…and I am so not a fan.
I know I want to lose all my baby weight (30 pounds so far) and be back in fighting shape (i.e., maybe have a stomach muscle or two) by June, but I really don’t want to think about working out just yet. I would also like to cook more and get take-out less but, again, I don’t think I’m going to be spending a whole lot of time in the kitchen in the next month or so. So…should I just skip New Year’s resolutions this year? Is that allowed? What are your resolutions? Do you usually keep them? Oh, and anyone have any fabulous plans for New Year’s Eve? Do tell!
