Celebrate National Children's Book Week

Have you read to your kid lately? If you haven't, this week's the perfect time: It's National Children's Book Week, through May 16. Started in 1919, this week is probably the easiest thing ever to celebrate: all you need is your kids and a good book to cuddle up with!

The Children's Book Week website also features a fun printable bookmark and book list design your kid can decorate and make their own. They've also got great tips on keeping kids and teens interested in reading, with links to puzzles, story starters and a website called Flamingnet, where teens can review books they've read.

Also announced today are the 2010 Children's Choice Book Awards. Have your kids read any of the winning picks?

Check out Parenting.com's slideshow of the best books to read with your kids for ideas, too, or get more picks from the National Education Association's list of top 100 books for children.
