Dirt: It Does a Body Good?

Good news: the five second rule (you know: food is still ok for kids to eat if you pick it up off the floor in less than five seconds) might not be BS after all. Researchers at Northwestern University, analyzing data collected from thousands of children over two decades in the Philippines, have discovered that exposure to germs in infancy may reduce the incidence of heart disease later in life. While no one’s saying you should let your kid go all Pig Pen, it does raise the question of whether children can be too clean for their own good.
