First Family Watch: Snow Days are for Sissies

where'd you go?

Yesterday Malia and Sasha (and thousands of kids across the country) had a snow day from school. But the Obamas are used to frigid Chicago and the President scoffed,“As my children pointed out, in Chicago, school is never cancelled. In fact, my 7-year-old pointed out, you’d go outside for recess. You wouldn’t even stay indoors.”

“We’re going to have to try to apply some flinty Chicago toughness to this,” he said. “I’m saying, when it comes to the weather, folks in Washington don’t seem to be able to handle things.”

I definitely gripe when my socks get wet from snow. I guess it's time to become more flinty and takes cues from Sasha, a 7-year-old tougher than me!

What do you think? Are snow days a cause for celebratory hot chocolate? Or just a rough day stuck inside?
