If you own a Medela Pump in Style Advanced breastpump, heads up: It might be one of the "small percent" of pumps affected by a recall announced in a press release.
The pumps are recalled because a component in the control board can wear off after long-term use, causing the motor to stop or slow. Here's how to tell if your pump qualifies for the recall:
- The pump will not turn on
- The pump turns off on its own
- The pump reduces or loses suction during the pumping process
- The pump is making a clicking noise.
If your pump has one of those problems, Medela will replace it for free. Visit www.medelareturns.com to learn how to ship your pump back (at Medela's expense). Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call customer service at 1-800-435-8316 for further assistance.
