8-Year Old Defends Gay Mom to Michele Bachmann

Most 8-year-olds probably don’t even know who the 2012 presidential candidates are, much less what they stand for, but not this South Carolina boy. Elijah, 8, made his opinion on one Republican candidate clear at a book signing, where he approached Michele Bachmann and whispered, barely audibly, "My mom's gay, but she doesn't need any fixing."

It was caught on tape.

This is in response to Bachmann's husband Marcus discussing his "reparative therapies" for gay people, and Bachmann’s own views on homosexuality. Check out the stunned look on her face.

The video has generated some controversy, since it appears the mother put the child up to the stunt, but the woman who shot the video claims it was the boy’s idea to stick up for Mom, even if he got a little shy.
