Not to be confused with the Department of Justice's AMBER Alert program, AmberWatch Alert, is an organization whose focus is to keep kids safe from abduction and molestation with educational programs and tools. It was founded in '04 by a man named Keith Jarrett after he lost track of his daughter shopping (he found her, thank goodness). We’re all for an organization that serves to protect kids.
But moms packing -- in mom pants? We’re not so sure. This AmberWatch Alert commercial reminds us that "you don't need a gun to protect your kid," but doesn’t tell us what we do need. All the AK-47s, pump-action shotguns and machine guns do get people talking, but not necessarily about the right things.
Is this commercial effective or ridic? What do you think?
