Last week I was late to work and grabbed the first pair of jeans I could find (professional, I know). I almost put them back because the last time I tried them on, they were tight. Like muffin-top tight. But I thought, hey, I'll give it a shot. And you know what? THEY SLIPPED RIGHT ON!! I didn't even have to suck anything in!
Know what else? When Larysa weighed me on Saturday, I was 4 3/4 pounds lighter. But that's not all: I ran 2.5 miles on the treadmill NONSTOP! I'm almost to my 3 mile goal!
Now, I realize that this seems like tremendous progress for just two weeks of near-daily exercise. The truth is, it's been more like three...my posts have had a little delay. I hope you'll understand...but I just couldn't wait to share the news.
But lest you think this progress has been all easy breezy, let me set the record straight. I'm still not what I'd call a huge fan of running. In fact, most days I motivate only because I know Laryssa will ask me, and she's just so darn great and helpful and full of you-can-do-it spirit that it pains me to disappoint her. I'm not sure what will happen once this experiment is over. Right now, I'm hoping another three weeks will be enough time for that so-called addiction to kick in that keep hearing about from my running friends. My addictions have tended to toward Oreos and spaghetti, so I'm worried.
I also despise squats/lunges/and step-ups of all kinds. I believe LD when she tells me my new butt will be worth the pain, but it doesn't mean I have to like them. They're just so hard. And they make me swear.
Also, I completely fell off my healthy eating plan this weekend: big time. As in, I had pasta and banana pudding at a dinner party on Saturday and a doughnut and pie on Sunday! I just couldn't resist. But whatever...a girl's gotta live, right?
