There’s a plethora of disturbing recalls news lately. Here’s an at-a-glance round-up – do you own any of these products?
Graco strollers: About 1.5 million Graco strollers have been recalled because they could pose a risk of fingertip amputations and lacerations to children. The recall includes the Passage, Alano and Spree Strollers and travel systems. Read more about this recall.
Dorel Asia cribs: More bad news for parents with drops-side cribs. Another manufacturer, Dorel Asia, is recalling to replace its drop side and non-drop side cribs, which pose suffocation and strangulation hazards to infants and toddlers. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cribs until replacement kits are obtained and installed.
Children’s jewelry: Although there’s been no official recall, the CPSC is launching a probe into the use of cadmium is kids’ jewelry, most often found in charms. Although lead in jewelry has been banned, in some cases it has been replaced by cadmium, known to cause cancer and kidney problems. Your safest bet?
