NEW! Mom Body Turnaround

Tell me if any of the following sounds like you: You're an insanely busy mom. You work (inside the home or out, work is work!). You put mostly everything and everyone before yourself. And the last time you really truly excercised (i.e. broke a prolonged a sweat on purpose) regularly was, oh....hmmmm....well....let's just say sometime in the distant past.

I can tell you one thing, this all fits me to a too-snug T.  Since my son was born four years ago, my work out regime has encompassed little more that carrying him up the stairs (he does weigh 45 pounds!) and parking my car waaaay at the end of the lot at my commuter train (and that's only because the good spots are always already gone). I'm exhausted. My muscles feel like overcooked limp noodles. And as soon as I stopped nursing when he was 11 months, the last 10 baby pounds that had just melted off, piled right back on...and stayed. I'm a good two sizes up from where I'd like to be, and I can't take it anymore!

So when Parenting's  Mom Squad member, trainer Larysa DiDio, offered to help me out, I hopped at the chance (I was too tired to actually jump). She's promised...PROMISED!...me that in six weeks, she could turn my sad, sagging body around. She's got her work cut out for her...just take a look at what she's got to transform with my official "before" shots (cringe, cringe, cringe): 

 

And I have mine. My biggest worry (besides not being able to walk) is just finding the time. I work full-time, I commute 2 1/2 hours a day, and I'm a single mom.

Fortunately, desperation is on my side. Which is why I'm roping you in, too: Accounability is key! So for the next six weeks, I'm going to report on each step of the way, and you, dear Parenting readers, will help keep me honest. Most important, I hope my pain, ahem, progress, will inspire you to start working it with me. I'll share Larysa's advice, our favorite moves, and how to eat without feeling punished.
