Obama's Inaugural Speech: America's Journey

President Obama’s words today at the Inaugural speech affected everyone in unique ways. As a Disney nerd, I was reminded of The American Adventure, a stage show in Walt Disney World featuring animatronics, a video, and stunning effects, that takes guests on a 200 year guided tour of America’s amazing history. I cry every. single. time. that I watch The American Adventure. I never realized how patriotic I was until I saw it. Listening to clips of famous speeches, seeing photos of hard working farmers plowing raw American soil, and being reminded of those who have given their lives for America make me think about all the unbelievable things so many people have done for our country and what we must all do to continue to make it a great, advantageous place to live. I think that’s exactly what Obama was talking about when he reminded us that:

“our journey has never been one of shortcuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted, for those who prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things … who have carried us up the long, rugged path towards prosperity and freedom. This is the journey we continue today.”

Did you watch the speech? What did it make you think of?
