Rear-Facing Strollers May Encourage Language Development

Now there might finally be a reason to justify the $700+ price tag on the Bugaboo – besides the fact that it looks incredibly cool.

New research suggests that rear-facing strollers may encourage language development, since parents who are facing their babies are more than twice as likely to talk to them.

Now of course there’s no reason you can’t make the extra effort to chat with your front-facing kid, but I have to admit, it doesn’t come as naturally and it can be hard to hear. Also, you can’t always see what your kiddo is looking at, so there are fewer opportunities to comment on the sights and sounds around you both.

Will this inform your next stroller purchase? Or is that still way too much money?
