One great thing about being in a school play is that any technical, stage, recitation, or costume malfunctions end up making the whole thing more charming and memorable. (The only school event my father remembers attending is my first grade holiday play, where Mrs. Clause peed her pants in the middle of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”)
Case in point: this video of a Long Island school’s rendition of Peter Pan. Who wants to see a boring, smooth-sailing Peter Pan play, where the set does not fall down or children are not jarringly jerked into the air via stage wires? Home videos of this school play will surely be watched again and again. I know I watched it at least ten times.
