Nickelodeon Hit Show ‘Blaze and The Monster Machines’ Welcomes Special Guest ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic
by Bethany Braun-Silva
“Weird Al” Yankovic is slated to voice a new character on Nickelodeon’s beloved show, “Blaze and the Monster Machines.” Yankovic will voice “Litter Critter,” a rascally raccoon truck who loves littering more than anything in the world. He comes to town with a song in his heart, some garbage in his hands, and a goofy plan to literally trash Axle City.
This fun episode teaches the importance of recycling, and Blaze and his fellow Monster Trucks are on hand to help clean up. “In this episode, Blaze transforms into a super recycling truck with the power to take old junk and turn it into new things—things he can use to catch the Litter Critter and save the city from being covered in litter,” co-creator Ellen Martin tells Parenting.
The episode, “Recycling Power!,” premieres Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m. and teaches kids the importance of “reduce, re-use and recycle.”
“It was really important to us that we present the idea of recycling in ‘Blaze and the Monster Machines’ as something cool and heroic, not a chore,” co-creator Jeff Borkin says. “We want preschoolers to learn how they can help the environment and have fun along the way!”
