6 Delicious Dips

Fans big and small will root for these easy dip recipes, perfect for the Super Bowl, game days, parties and more

Base Recipe: Combine 1 (8-oz) can tomato sauce, 1 tsp sugar, and 1 tsp Italian seasoning.

Beanie Weenie variation: Add 1 (16-oz) can baked beans and 1 cup sliced hot dogs or cooked Italian sausage. Warm through and top with shredded cheddar.

Dipper: Baked potato skins

Base recipe: Combine 1 cup olive-oil mayonnaise, 1 cup light sour cream, and a dash each of onion powder and garlic powder.

Cheesy Spinach-Artichoke variation: Stir in crumbled cooked bacon, chopped spinach, and chopped artichoke hearts. Top with shredded cheddar and broil until melted.

Dipper: Whole-wheat baguette slices

Base recipe: Combine 1 (8-oz) can tomato sauce, 1 tsp sugar, and 1 tsp Italian seasoning.

Creamy Caprese variation: Layer with chopped sun-dried tomatoes, dried oregano, fresh basil, shredded mozzarella, and grated parmesan, ending with the cheeses. Broil until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Dipper: Italian breadsticks

Base recipe: Combine 1 cup olive-oil mayonnaise, 1 cup light sour cream, and a dash each of onion powder and garlic powder.

Mexicorn variation: Stir in 1 cup corn kernels, chopped cilantro, crumbled queso blanco (or shredded mozzarella), and a dash of taco seasoning. Sprinkle with paprika.

Dipper: Chunks of grilled chicken on skewers

Base recipe: Combine 1 (8-oz) can tomato sauce, 1 tsp sugar, and 1 tsp Italian seasoning.

Tex-Mex Twist variation: Stir in 1 cup black beans, 1 (15-oz) can corn kernels (drained), crumbled cooked bacon, and chopped cilantro. Top with shredded Colby Jack cheese.

Dipper: Tortilla chips

Base recipe: Combine 1 cup olive-oil mayonnaise, 1 cup light sour cream, and a dash each of onion powder and garlic powder.

White-bean hummus: Add 1 (15-oz) can white beans (rinsed and drained) and puree until smooth.
