Roasted Bananas With Maple Syrup

Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: about 15 minutes
Serves: 4 servings

2 Tbs unsalted butter
4 bananas, peeled and sliced lengthwise
Pinch of ground nutmeg or cinnamon
3 Tbs maple syrup

Put bananas in pan; top with nutmeg.

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a small, shallow roasting pan with 1/2 of the butter. Place bananas in pan in one layer and sprinkle with nutmeg. Roast for about 7 minutes.

2. Remove bananas from oven; top with maple syrup and remaining butter. Roast for another 2 minutes.

3. Raise heat to broil; broil until drippings are golden, about 2 minutes. Serve hot topped with pan juices.
