The Short of It
A 12-year-old Florida girl has been arrested for pinching a boy's butt in school!
Imagine this: your preteen is charged with misdemeanor battery, read her Miranda Rights, put in the back of a police car, has her mugshot taken, and is booked into a juvenile detention center, all because she pinched a boy's rear end.
It happened to 12-year-old Breana Evans, who now tells Fox 2 Now, "I regret it because I didn't know it would lead to this." She said it was just a joke, and she didn't even know the boy.

The girl's father Ray Evans remarks, "Lord Lord Lordy what has this world come to? Kids can't even be a kid." He blames the mom of the boy who insisted on pressing charges.

Breana's arrest comes approximately two weeks after the pinch felt 'round the world—or school. The boy whose buns were targeted told the school resource deputy he didn't want to press charges, and Breana was suspended. But his mom called deputies and insisted the incident was battery, leading to the girl's stiffer punishment.

Since this incident seemingly doesn't reflect a case of persistent bullying by Breana, I have to agree with her dad. That this girl got arrested for a little pinch is kind of insanely ridiculous and a woefully inappropriate overreaction by parents and law enforcement.
