The Short of It
A dad's treadmill dance to the Maroon 5 song "Moves Like Jagger" has gone viral.
I'll never forget the time in middle school my father came downstairs to say hello to the group of friends I'd invited for a sleepover. He was wearing swimming trunks—it was winter—with knee socks and a too-small T-shirt. I wanted to die.
So on a smaller scale, I can totally relate to how another father's kids are feeling now that a video of him getting his groove on while exercising has hit the Internet.
David Greider posted a clip of his dad moves to YouTube this week, and since it has gotten more than 210,000 likes and has been shared around the web, I must not be the only person for whom it resonates. Or maybe everyone is just getting a kick out of this papa's lack of modesty while he gets down to a favorite song.
We don't know how his children actually feel about Greider's hip shaking fun, but we do know the dad himself is having a blast. You go, papa!
Now that I have children of my own, I'll admit I get a kick out of making them laugh and embarrassing them. I'll put on a song I enjoy and sashay around the kitchen while I'm making dinner. I might throw down with a running man or a lawnmower move. My girls giggle and say, "Oh, mom." But I'm pretty sure if I put my routine on YouTube, they'd move out of the country.
How do you like to embarrass your kids?
